What's it like at UT Permian Basin?
UT Permian Basin is a dynamic, growing campus. The atmosphere on
campus is a great mix of academics and fun. With about 3,600 students
and sunny skies for most of the year, UTPB is the perfect place to study
on the courtyard lawn or take in a Falcon soccer match. We have warm
weather, year-round sunshine and low humidity.
The campus includes one of the country's best visual arts studios and the student apartments
are the nicest in the state. Plans are under way to build a world class
performing arts center and a science complex with state-of-the-art
computer and science labs. The Gymnasium Complex
boasts a new weight training facility, basketball and volleyball
courts, walking and roller-blading trails, a duck pond and a swimming
pool.
We have a growing international presence on and off campus with
established academic programs in Mexico and China. We have students
coming to UTPB from as far away as China, Norway, Australia and Brazil.
The university stages several theatrical productions and student art shows every year. Student Life
is active with clubs, organizations and events, and the Student Program
Board presents fun events that are free to students. Past events have
included comedians, concerts and hypnotist shows.Intramural sports are also a big part of student life at UT Permian Basin.
